New Website!

Crazy, after five years of having the same website layout, I finally redesigned it. Thanks to some cool pre-made layouts from Angelfire.com, I was suddenly motivated to restructure. Anywho, life's been busy so I haven't have time to finish up my in-progress jazz tunes. I've been doing some writing for woodwind quintet lately, so that might be interesting. I might post those after I clean them up a little. I will be adding much more content to the website in the near future. More compositions as well as more audio samples of my audio engineering work. If only I had more hours in the day to get done all I needed to! Until next time...

Yet another piece.

I've been misinforming you, the reader. I'm not writing SONGS, I'm writing pieces. (Songs would have to have words, by definition.) In anycase, I have yet another PIECE in the works. Kinda. It's an old piece I conceived years ago, and it wasn't very good as an entire entity (say that 10 times fast), but there were good sections and ideas within. So, I'm overhauling it quite significantly. I still haven't even finished working on my other couple pieces that I've been working on for the last month or so.

All this inspiration, I don't know what to do with it all! I would really like to write a jazz/big band styled piece for concert band. (Inspiration? The Incredibles soundtrack. Thank you Michael Giacchino, you are the man.)

Been trying to get the hang of Sibelius 7 as well as my MacBookPro. I am having some complications, what with all the kinks not completely worked out of the new version of Sibelius and all. Time and patience.

On that note, I don't know why I didn't get a Mac much earlier in my music production/composition endeavors. Outstanding interface. I couldn't possibly dream of going back to anything else.

Busy.

While I have been busy with my new house, two dogs, and a new job, I've managed to write three new concert band pieces. They are still in their infancy, but the skeleton is still there. I will be adding them to my website, SoundCloud, and ScoreExchange, just to name a few. Keep checking back!

New Computer.

Finally, it is done. I shelled out the money for a MacBook Pro. It is a full-blown experiment, but hopefully a fruitful one. Hopefully I won't have to sacrifice production because of system limitations. Anywho, I'm working on a new concert band piece...perhaps in the style of Sylar from Heroes. WE'll see.

Also, another big project will be coming down range very soon. More details to come.

Sound Cloud.

Just made some updates to my Sound Cloud page. Same songs that are up on Score Exchange are located here. Check 'em out!

Whoa.

It has been a long time. A lot has happened in over two months. And pretty much none of it had to do with me writing new music. I did make some tweaks to some of my compositions as well of my website. And even more importantly, my scores have been uploaded to ScoreExchange.com! I'm also trying to get my compositions down in Texas at my buddy's alma mater. There will be more additions to this website soon as my compositions are ready to be consumed by the general public. Check it!

Updates.

Currently, I've been really busy to try to find a house to buy and live in in less than a month. Quite stressful.

But aside from that, I got a new concert band tune written. Don't have a name for it yet. It's pretty sweet if I do say so myself.

I'm also looking into expanding my personal studio, which I've been saving for a long time to do. Here's what I'm planning on going with: MacBook Pro w/Logic Studio as well as Pro Tools 9. And perhaps some Beats Audio headphones courtesy of Dr. Dre and Monster Cables. Cannot wait. But alas, I'll have to.

When this does happen, expect a complete revamp of all, yes, ALL, my tunes. They seriously need to get an audio engineering make over. I love Sibelius, but the sounds are just not as good as I need them to be.

I've also linked up to a couple business and social networking websites. They are as follows:

Music Lunge!

Sound Cloud!

So feel free to check them out. By the way, click some ads! And do check out Music Lunge, they're in need of new members.

As promised, I have uploaded not one, but two songs. And I am also updating from my Wii.

New updates.

I have uploaded many of the compositions in the Composition section. Some good stuff.

I will also be uploading new compositions every week (to include just getting all my previously written compositions finally up on the site).

In any case, enjoy!

Mixing Frenzy.

So, in order to get as much content up on my website (finally), I've been mixing down my compositions, trying to get them to a decent listening quality. I'm probably not even at 50% yet, but it'll get there. Plus I need to get working on that piece I started in February that's just been sitting around.

In other news, I just graduated with my Associate in Arts Degree. It's a big step for me and it makes me happy.

Needless to say, the website is getting updated regularly again. Yay!

Much, much more to come.

Random Turn of Events

I just so happens that as a random turn of events, I'm finding myself more and more on the performance side rather than the guy behind the scenes writing or producing music. Not that this is a bad thing at all, as I rarely get to play my saxophone much anymore. More to come on that.

I haven't been writing much lately mostly because I've been so busy with work. There's been a skeleton crew working, so I've been layering the tasks to complete by one person that would normally take 3-4. Awesome. So needless to say that last couple weeks have been pretty busy.

I'm going to be doing some just for fun recordings of some sax quartets with a buddy, Camp. I'll probably be playing bari and soprano (awesome combo, huh?) and he'll obviously do alto and tenor. I have a lot of things I want to do before I leave Albany, namely recording, because I will be severely downgraded when I head to Quantico.

Anywho, there is a piece I started working on about a month ago now. Eventually it'll be for an orchestra/wind band. More to come on that also.

So...

Those audio samples I said I was going to upload? Uh, might be a little longer. That stint in St. Louis was a bit busier than I anticipated, plus a sickness that has definitely caught me off guard. So, I'll be leaving for yet another week to go shoot a rifle for a week and then I'll be back with those audio samples! Yay! Ideally, I'd love to pop them into Pro Tools, but that's not going to happen just yet. Another project for another day. Anywho, tootles.

Productivity

It has been a productive few days since embarking on the two week trip to St. Louis. Having a tour bus with wifi always helps. I've revisited several of my jazz band compositions as well as finished the format for my latest concert band piece.

Unfortunately, this is the easy part, orchestrating this concert band piece will be hard because there are a lot of ideas I want in it, but at the same time, I don't want it to be longer than 3-4 minutes.

The website most likely will not be changing entirely just yet. Little changes shall be made to kick it into a new state of being (catch my 2012 reference?). In any case, some additions and subtractions will be done on the website to provide more content for everyone to enjoy. This also includes much more sharing possibilities, so...that being said, DO WORK and share the music. The sharing options are currently on the website.

Hopefully within the week I should have several audio samples of my compositions.

Also, everyone should download Brent Spiner and Maude Maggart's Dreamland album from iTunes or Amazon! It's the hotness.

Website.

Essentially, this website will be experiencing a total overhaul. Blog, new layout, new features, CURRENT music, and finally, adding to the Audio Engineering section, which has been empty for years now. It will be a slow process of designing and getting it exactly how I want, but it will be well worth it in the end.

In other news, my newest piece is developing nicely.

New Piece: February 2011.

After watching the movie, "The Day After Tomorrow," I've been inspired to start on a new piece. But in my head, instead of cataclysmic weather happenings, zombies, instead, popped into my mind. How exciting.
